FIFTY-FIVE Letters from the westward, mailed at Washington, Kentucky, on the 2d inst. for distribution at this office, having been taken out of the mail and a person, in whose possession 1500 dollars in bank notes and other things were found, which, it is believed, constituted a part of the contents of these letters, having been committed to Jail under circumstances rendering it probable that the robbery may have been more extensive than has been yet ascertained, it has been deemed proper to give this notice to enable those interested, as well as others, to take such steps as may be thought necessary, in aid of those which will be adopted by the post office department.
