Why Not Beautify?

The question is asked time and time again "Why are the majority of school grounds so bleak and bare?"

If you will look around, very few have had any attention given to planting out grass, trees, shrubs, or flowers.

If each school every year will observe Arbor Day, November 20, this question would be settled in a short time. By getting each grade interested and having regular plans to gun, it would only take a short time to have some trees growing and flowers blooming practically the whole year.

Think ahead a few years.

It takes time for an acorn to become an oak. Let's join together this year and every school plant out a number of trees, not only to beautify the school grounds but for the pleasure of the school children during the warm days of spring at recess.

Union County H. D. Agent.
