A letter received yesterday, mentions, that by report from New York, Paul Jones was on the coast with a small squadron, and had chased in the Galatea; that the Russell of 74 guns and some frigates were going out in pursuit of him; the letter farther mentions, his Excellency General Washington having just received a letter from the Marquis Fayette, announcing his arrival at Boston.
A person from New York gives information, that the Russell and frigates, are destined to Chesapeake bay, to intercept some large tobacco ships, supposed to be now about to sail from Virginia.
