DETROIT, Mich.- The Reverend William H. Peck, pastor of Bethel A. M. E. church has been mentioned as the logical

man to succeed Robert Moton at the head of Tuskegee Institute. Resolutions were adopted by the Booker T. Washington Trade Association to the effect that he be given consideration for the position. This would be a fitting climax to the career of this great teacher.
Rev. Peck was born in Frederick Maryland December 4, 1878 and educated in the public schools of Washington, D. C. He then attended Lincoln university and received his Bachelor of Divinity at Wilberforce university in 1905. He received a honorary D.D. from Wilberforce and an L.L.D. from Campbell College, Jackson, Miss, and University of Southern California. He is the author of "YOUTH'S MEDIUM" Christian Endeavor Handbook. He became a clergyman in 1905. He was a teacher at Western university, Kansas City, Kansas, and at present is pastor of Greater Bethel A. M. E. Church, Detroit, Michigan. In 1925 he became associate editor of the Christian Endeavor Quarterly. He organized the Booker T. Washington Trade Association. He is a national committeeman for the national Negro Business League, executive committeeman for the Better Business Relations of the National Business League, a Thirty-second degree Mason, an Elk, a member of the Omega Psi Phi fraternity, and other nationally known organizations. His associates believe that he is the most capable man yet mentioned for the post and they are sworn to do all that they can to see that he is considered. Reverend Peck is one of the most liberal men in the city, his every act and thought is for the welfare of the downtrodden Negro. Placed in the position of President of Tuskegee, he would carve a record that few men could equal. He has the backing of every citizen of this city and state, and it is believed that he would accept the offer.
