Full Text

Written for the San Antonio Light.

My heart is filled with pleasure,
So keen 'tis akin to pain,
For I'm going home to mother,
To ne'er leave home again.

How her dear old eyes will brighten,
And fill with tears of joy.
How her lonely heart will lighten,
When she sees her darling boy.

Waiting in the old home,
Watching and praying for me;
Soon, dear mother, I'll cease to roam,
And will return to thee.

Oh I'm going home to mother,
How my heart with rapture thrills;
She loves me like no other.
And I know she always will
