COMMUNICATION.
City of Richmond.

The following lines were written on seeing Miss -- --. If the insertion of these initials should be the only objection to their publication, and an INSUPERABLE one, pray expunge them—The author flatters himself, they require no index to point out their object—He can give no other indication of himself, than that they are from the pen of
A STRANGER.

ADDRESSED TO MISS

When the Supreme creative power,
Resolved upon thy natal hour;
Essay'd to form thy magic Face,
Thy limbs to mould and give them Grace;
And to perfect his work, impart
Within that breast a kindred heart;
He, from the Angels round his throne,
Chose those, whose Beauties brightest shone,
And cull'd from each, with skill divine,
Some perfect part and made it thine.—
But merciful to man, on thee
Bestowed not Immortality.

* We have expunged them—But should the Ladies of Richmond be disposed to contend for the honour of this elegant compliment, we are willing to play the part of Paris, and assign the Apple of Discord 'TO THE FAIREST.
