HER MAD NIGHT
Editor, The Citizen:
Will you kindly allow me space
in your paper to reply to a critic
who signed himself "A lover of Key
West." It is no use for anyone to
make insinuations about any place
of business in Key West without
requiring the name of the individ-
ual writing same. We have always
been above board- with all our
methods in dealing with matters
of this kind.
The article I am referring to
was an article published in your
paper and the party referred to
the poster that appeared in front
of the theater that bore the fol-
lowing title, "Her Mad Night,"
and this would-be reformer said
that titles of this kind were the
cause of young boys going to
the reformatory. If the writer
would have seen this picture it
would have changed his mind, as
there was nothing immoral about
this picture, and any Key Wester
that witnessed this picture will tell
you so.
I am inclosing a reproduction
of the photograph of the poster
that the critic was referring to.
and I venture to state that posters
that are a hundred times worse
than this have been displayed in
front of business establishments
in Key West before and just why
this critic picked this mild poster
to rave over is beyond the writer
of this letter.
This theater has always tried
to run the best pictures and will
continue to do so in the future,
and at the bottom of this letter
you will find my signature to
back up this article.
Yours very truly,
GONZALO BEZANILLA.

Main Argument
the movie 'her mad night' and its poster are not immoral, contrary to the critic 'a lover of key west' who claims such titles lead young boys to reformatories; the film is wholesome, and worse posters have been displayed without issue.
