According to the capitulation the garrison was to be conducted to Montreal, to remain there prisoners of war till they should be exchanged. The officers and soldiers, as well as the inhabitants, were permitted to keep their cloaths and baggage. The effects found in the fort, which have been sent in barks to Frontenac, are as follows : seven pieces of brass cannon, of 19, 14, and 12 Inches ; 48 others of iron, of 9, 6, 5, 3, and 2. A brass mortar of 9 1-3d Inches. Thirteen brass mortars of 6 to 3 inches. Forty seven patteraroes. 23,000 lb. of gun-powder; 8000 weight of lead and balls ; 2950 balls of different sizes ; 109 nine-inch bombs ; 300 six-inch bombs ; 1476 granadoes.
Canoes; 730 grenadier muskets; a ship pierced for 18 guns; a brigantine of 16; a schooner of 10; a batteau of 10; another of 8; a sloop of 18 swivels; another burnt in dock; 704 barrels of biscuit; 1386 quarters of bacon and beef; 712 quarts of meal; 32 live oxen; 15 [tun] wine; and in the military chest 18594 livres.
