Full Text

Will Probably Live Here.

Auditor Williams has been in correspondence for some weeks with J. Hannibal Thomas, of Massachusetts, about a tract of land in this county, upon which a northern owner has been paying taxes for about 20 years without ever having seen it. The land is on the tax books in the name of Mr. Winslow Warren, of Boston, and Auditor Williams had trouble in identifying it as a tract of about 300 acres on the headwaters of King's creek. The land is said to be well timbered for the most part, and to contain several fertile fields. There are some squatters on it, also, it is understood. Mr. Thomas desires to know whether it is suitable for a home and says that if it is he will probably move down to South Carolina and make his home on it. He correctly assumes that the people will treat him kindly.
