Annual Communication Opened in Hartford This Morning
Hartford. Jan 15.-The annual communication of the Connecticut Grand lodge of Masons was opened in Hartford to-day in the new Masonic temple. The annual address was made by the retiring grand master, Henry O. Warner of New Milford,
The following are the newly elected officers of the Masonic Temple association: President, N. D. Grauniss; vice-president, N. J. Welton; secretary, L. A. Platt; treasurer, B. G. Bryan; auditors, A. J. Goodrich and J. H. Hart.
The report of grand treasurer John G. Root of this city showed: Receipts balance on hand January 15, 1895, $4,595.95. Total receipts during the year $2,850.90. Total $7,446.85. Disbursements in 1895 $6,030.09. Balance on hand January 15, 1896, $1,416.76. Of the amount disbursed during the year $1,000 was transferred to the hands of the trustees for investment.
The report of the grand secretary, John H. Barlow. shows a total membership of 16,737. The statistics for the year are: Number of initiations 700. passed 654, raised 657, affiliated 111, reinstated 38, admitted 74, stricken from the roll 156, died 275. The net gain in membership for the twelve months was 352.
