Head Quarters of the King of Prussia at Radeberg. June 20.

The King having thought proper to take post with his Army on this Side of the Elbe, the Troops were put in Motion on the 14th in the Evening, and directed their March to the Village of Zabel, without being molested by the Enemy.

A sufficient Number of Troops were left on the Banks of the little River Riebisch, to cover the Bridges of Boats that were thrown over the Elbe below Meissen.

His Majesty came and encamped at Proschwitz on the 15th, and Marshal Daun, who had also passed the Elbe, pitched his Camp at Reichenberg.

On the 18th the King marched again, in order to gain the Right Flank of the Enemy. The Saxon Light Horse and the Uhlan had advanced to Grand Doberitz, but upon the Approach of our Vanguard, they hastily fell back thro' the Wood of Steinback, towards the Corps commanded by Gen. Lacy, who, being joined by the Troops under Gen. Brentano, was posted on the Eminences of Bernstorff, with the Rivulet of Promnitz in his Front; our Vanguard pursuing their March towards Radeberg, the Enemy immediately abandoned that Post, and the Retreat of a Detachment of Warasdins, who had not fallen back in Time, was cut off.

The Hussars and Dragoons of our Van immediately attacked the Austrian Light Horse and Ulans, who were supported by the Enemy's whole Cavalry, and not only obliged them to repass the Rivulet above mentioned, but pursued them to their very Camp.

The Enemy's Cannon hindered our Troops from pushing their Advantages farther, nevertheless they carried off from the Austrians some hundred Horses; but as our Army and our Artillery could not follow our Van soon enough, the attack was put off till next Day.

A Battle was looked upon as unavoidable, considering the Strength of the Enemy, and Proximity of Marshal Daun's Army, which in less than two Hours might have joined the aforesaid Corps.

But, contrary to all expectation, we have learned that Gen. Lacy, having taken the Advantage of the Obscurity of the Night, had abandon'd the Post of Reichenberg, though the Enemy had employed the greatest part of the Winter in fortifying it. He was pursued by our Hussars, who took some Booty and Prisoners.
