BOSTON, August 14.

A sword voted by Congress to the Reverend Alfred L. Baury, brother of Lieutenant Frederick Baury, deceased, of the navy, was delivered to him at Middletown (Con.) on the 3d instant. Lieutenant B. was a native of Hayti, from whence he fled with his parents when an infant, and in 1809 obtained a warrant in the Navy of the United States. He was with Hull in the escape of the Constitution, and at the taking of the Guerriere—and with Bainbridge on the capture of the Java. He was afterwards transferred to the Wasp, which ship he was in on the capture of the Reindeer, and the sinking of the Avon—and was probably on board when the Wasp (from the best accounts that can be obtained) was attacked by a heavy British frigate, which after a severe conflict was compelled to haul off. The Wasp has not been heard of since.
