Extract of a letter from Mr. JOSEPH KELLER to the Printer hereof.
"Governor St. Clair having taken my deposition, requested me to send the substance thereof to you for the information of the public:
"On Tuesday the 11th of August, I was fired on by a party of Indians, in the Fallen Timber, on this side fort St. Clair, on my way to Greenville. I escaped their fire, but immediately fell into their hands—They took me some distance from the road, stripped me naked & took from me my clothes, saddle-bags, cloak, money to the amount of one hundred dollars and two receipts for 461. cash, paid at Greenville; also a horse I was leading, the property of Robert Carr, with all his clothes (he being some distance behind me escaped them)—After some abuse, they held a council and set me at liberty."
