SUNDAY AT THE FIRST
BAPTIST CHURCH

Record Breaking Sunday School Attendance Was the Feature Interesting Address by Dr. Spillman.

Yesterday was the last day of the fifth Sunday meeting at the First Baptist Church.

The mammoth Sunday school yesterday morning was probably one of the largest ever held in the State, for there were present 868 members who were enrolled. In addition to these there were nearly 150 who were unable to get their names in because of the large crowds and the limited time.

A special train was run from A. and M. College and a host of cadets and campus people took advantage of it to come in and enjoy the services.

As a result of the Baptist Sunday school campaign interest in all the Sunday schools of the city is increasing, and the attendance at other Sunday schools is larger.

Dr. W. B. Spillman of North Carolina addressed a large congregation at 11 a. m. on "The Baptists in Sunday School History." Dr. Spillman is a Sunday school worker of wide fame, and the eminent gentleman made a talk which was very interesting and brim full of pregnant points.

Dr. W. E. Foster of Dallas organized a teachers' training class in the afternoon and a number enrolled. At 7:45 o'clock tonight the enrollment will be completed and work commenced. The opening work will be started tonight and all interested are urged to attend. These lessons will be continued by Dr. Foster until the class has completed the first book.

Rev. I. N. Langston of Franklin conducted the evening services last night, which closed the fifth Sunday program.

This session was the most largely attended that the association has held, and a great deal of good has been accomplished.
