Fire at Belleville.

Fire started in Lewis & Hollandsworth's store and destroyed their stock of general merchandise and millinery goods and the building. The loss is about $20,000.

Dr. Hanig's drug store also burned. The loss is about $10,000.

The south half of the Hotel Republic and also the millinery store of Miss Hill are in ruins and almost the entire block is destroyed.

It was with great difficulty that the fire company saved the National bank building and the postoffice.

It is believed that the fire originated in the mitten factory in the basement of the cash store.
