EASTER SUNDAY
Tomorrow is Easter Sunday all over this land and countries
across the seas. All Christians will pause to give renewed
homage to the Man of Galilee.
In Rome thousands of Holy Year Pilgrims will kneel in reverence
at Saint Peter's Basilica, world's largest church. In
Jerusalem other pilgrims will file through the battle scarred
streets over the route Christ took when He was led to His
crucifixion.
At home, here in Kodiak, many will attend special services
at the churches of their faith. The Baptist Church, St. Mary's
Catholic Church, the Russian-Greek Orthodox Church and the
Church of God will hold services.
At NOB the Star of the Sea Chapel and Hillside Chapel are
also holding services during Holy Week.
To many Easter Sunday is an excuse to display their new
suit, dress or hat, but to the truly faithful it is a day of reverence
and quiet devotion.
