THE THIRST QUESTION IS BEING INVESTIGATED AT LISBON--MUCH LIQUOR SHIPPED AS FREIGHT.

Salineville, O., Jan. 19.--Fifty persons in the village received subpoenas Tuesday to appear before the grand jury in session at Lisbon. It is not known what they were called up for, but many of them have every reason to believe that an investigation of where the liquor is being dispensed in the village will be made. Since the local option election September 13, there has been much liquor shipped into town. The members of the Anti-Saloon league have been quite busy gathering information which has been laid before Prosecutor McGarry. The local freight agent, A. H. Rogers, has been ordered to make a copy of the bills of lading of beer and liquor shipped into the village since it was voted dry.
