The Indiana Medical College opened, yesterday, with a larger attendance than on any previous opening.
Dr. Joseph Marsee made the opening address, welcoming the students, and giving the first lecture of the opening course on "human anatomy."
Dr. I. C. Walker gave the next lecture on "The general relations of the nervous system to the animal economy,"
and Dr. C. E. Wright followed on "The absurdities of popular and indiscriminate medicine."
In the afternoon, Dr. T. B. Harvey lectured on "The history of gynecology," and was followed by Drs. Comingor and Marsee, with surgical clinics, including the hair-lip operation.
The class includes representatives from Ohio, Kentucky and Illinois, and the year bids fair to be one of the most successful in the history of the college.
