THE SILVER MEN SHOULD UNITE
To the Editor: I am proud to see the strong ground the News and Observer is taking for silver, for I am fully satisfied that the silver question is the great question of the day. I am also fully satisfied of another thing, which is, that the silver men must unite if they hope for victory, for it will require their united strength to gain the victory in the coming contest. For one I am determined that nothing shall stand in the way of my best efforts for the cause of silver. "In union there is strength." Then let us pursue that course which will tend to unite the silver forces. He who would keep them from uniting is a servant of monometallism. The hope of the goldites is in the division of the silverites.
Let all silver men come together and stand shoulder to shoulder in the battle that is on, believing in the justness of their cause, putting their trust in Him who rules the destiny of nations, fight the great battle to a victorious end.
