Petit Larceny.

The crime of petit larceny has become very common of late, and the town is infested with a number of old-timers who alternate between serving time in the County Jail and committing thefts on the street.

A number of offenders of this sort passed through the town courts yesterday, and for the most part received unusually heavy sentences. Before Justice Austin, Sam Young got 100 days. Frank Strohn four months. John Allman six months, Lon Holly three months. Frank Holland six months, and Thomas Sullivan, an old offender, 500 days. Justice Lockwood sent up James Whitesides and John Matthews for thirty days each.
