Full Text
The action was taken by the War Food Administration, Caldwell said, to facilitate movement of heavy supplies of livestock now on farms into consumer channels. Direct delivery of meat from the farm to neighboring communities is expected to help the farmer, and improve rural meat supplies, particularly in the outlying areas in Arizona.
Farmers were previously required to obtain permits to slaughter and deliver livestock to persons not living on the farm. Restrictions on slaughter and delivery of hogs were revoked some time ago, but until now continued in force for all other livestock.
This recent action is made effective through amendment 15 to War Food Order No. 75, Caldwell said.
Farmers are still required to comply with OPA regulations as to the collecting of points for meat delivered, etc.
