Full Text

Cigarette Case Undetermined.

The cigarette dealers of Des Moines are becoming anxious to hear from Judge Burnham of the district court of Marshall county in relation to the cigarette status in Iowa. They have been notified by the tobacco manufacturers to hold off until the decision in the test case in Marshall county is made. While they expect to win and to have the Iowa tax knocked out they are not certain this will be done. Their contention that the new law is not binding because of irregularities in the passage thereof is regarded as a strong point in their favor.
