End Of Season In
Field Day Awards
The London Playground, under the sponsorship of the London Recreation Council, closed a successful season by conducting a field day in which forty-one boys took part. The prize in the eight and under division was won by Barry McClaskie. In the nine to twelve division Tom Robison was the winner. Bob Fife was the victor among the older boys.
An award was also given to the boy with the best attendance. Larry Girard and Ken Ward finished in a tie, both missing only three days. Also an award was given to the boy who, in the opinion of the supervisor, made the most improvement throughout the year. To show that practice makes perfect, Ken Ward also won this award.
Total attendance for the year was nine hundred and sixty-nine boys, an average of one hundred and twenty-one per week. This total was made up by seventy-eight different boys who attended. This number is a great improvement over last year. It is hoped that the rate of improvement can be continued next season.
