Chance For Inventors.

HAVANA, Dec. 26.-Several of the wealthiest planters at Cienfuegos have agreed to offer a reward of $1,000 gold to the inventor of the best apparatus presented them to load the cut cane from the field upon the cars which are to carry it to the sugar houses. The cane fields, in all the sugar-producing districts, continue to exhibit a splendid appearance, excepting those in the eastern part of the island, which have suffered severely from the drought that has prevailed at Porto Principe, Gibara, St. de Cuba, Guantanamo, and several other districts.
