WORK SUSPENDED ON CITY BUILDING COLD WEATHER TOO SEVERE TO PERMIT OPERATIONS - ACTIVITIES WILL START AS SOON AS A THAW COMES.

The extremely cold weather which struck this part of the country day before yesterday has caused the work on the new city building to be delayed until a thaw sets in, as the brickwork cannot go on until the weather is warmer.

The entire first floor of the building has been completed, the second floor laid and the walls of the second story are already up over half way along the window frames, but there the work had to be stopped, owing to the cold.

The work will be hurried along and completed as soon as possible, so that the fire company may move into its new quarters within a short time, although they are now more comfortably located than they were in the old building which was torn down to make way for the construction of the new one.
