'Tis impossible to ascertain the loss of the Cherokees in the Action of 10th of June; in which only one Indian was taken by the Catawbas, and immediately put to death. Two old women were taken on the 12th. who knew nothing of the matter, and were likewise put to death by the Catawbas. Two other women were taken on the 26th at Stickowih ; and a fellow called the Yellow Bird of Nottelih on the 28th : The three last did say they heard that some were killed of every town, but no Number. The last prisoner was a stupid old fellow of Whatogah, who said he heard his town had lost 8.
