LOCAL ITEMS.

Arrest.-On Monday evening, Mr. Peter Kriese, U. S. Deputy Marshal from Baltimore, arrived in this place and demanded the delivery into his custody of the eight sailors lately imprisoned here as mutineers. (an account of which has already been published) and awaiting a requisition from the authorities in Maryland. The paper which he presented as evidence of his authority had no seal on it, and was otherwise defective, and the officers here refused to deliver the sailors to him. The matter was then carried before justice Hunter for examination, and whilst in his office, Mr. Kriese made an assault upon officer Chipley. Justice Hunter immediately committed him to jail, in default of $200 bail required for this conduct. The prisoner immediately communicated by telegraph to Baltimore the occurrence, requesting the attendance here of those under whom he acted. Subsequently, Captain N. Boush entered as bail, and Mr. K. was released.
