The Virginia Paper contains a Number of Addresses that have been presented to his Excellency the Earl of Dunmore, congratulating his Lordship on his Arrival to the Government. -- In his Answer to one of his Addresses his Lordship says:
"Though I must acknowledge the Desire I had of remaining in New-York, from the sincere Affection I had conceived, and ever shall retain, for a Province, the People whereof had manifested so earnest an Inclination to make my Administration easy to me, and my Residence among them agreeable; I shall nevertheless, exert my utmost Abilities to conciliate the Affection of the Colony which I now have the Honor to preside over."
