In Bond Sale Percentage

Garrett county was listed third in the state in percentage of war bonds purchased in relation to its quota, it has been announced.

Charles county residents purchased 208 percent of the $200,000 quota, buying $416,117 in bonds. Howard was second with 202 percent, while Garrett was third with 198 percent.

The Garrett county sales totaled $296,449 compared with $254,059 in the Third War Loan drive.

Maryland finished a clear third in the amount of over-subscription among the states with its 147 percent. Mississippi and North Dakota had 154 and 153 percent respectively.
