Candidates Speak At Open Meeting
City council candidates will give their views and answer questions at a Lions Club-sponsored open meeting at the Youth Center 8:15 p.m. Tuesday, September 12. The meeting, a long-standing tradition in Greenbelt permits the 8 candidates to give their platforms and state their views on problems in the community. The News Review platform is expected to receive the most attention during the campaign speeches, but other problems not touched on by the newspaper are expected to be discussed.

Each candidate will be allowed 5 minutes to speak, after which a question and answer period will be held. Chairman of the meeting will be former mayor, Jim Wolfe.
