Just as in the days about a quarter of a century ago. It's the Morris Brown College Purple Wolverines against the Clark College Cardinal and Black Panthers in their traditional Thanksgiving Day Classic, Thursday afternoon, at Herndon Memorial Stadium. Game time will be 2 P. M.
With a brilliant 5-and-2 won-lost record, the Cardinal and Black Panthers are geared to chalk up their first victory since 1948 in the long Turkey Day series with their neighborhood rivals.
EXPECT RECORD THRONG
As in former years, a record throng is expected to jam the concrete arena to see the Panthers and Wolverines square off in a game that really has the experts guessing. This is a game in which the underdog as well as the favorite enjoys a fair chance to win. Frankly, many keen sports observers rate the 25th inaugural of the series a toss-up.
Since 1929, when the Thanksgiving Day series was born, Clark and Morris Brown have met 24 times. The record now stands: Morris Brown 14, Clark - 7, and three ties.
Morris Brown's heaviest point production was in 1951 (50-6) and Clark's biggest day was in 1929 (19-0).
