The Lord Mayor fell from his horse near Newington Turnpike while returning from Claptham, caused by sheep startling the horse and the bit breaking, leading to a runaway until the turnpike where he fell off. A gentleman assisted him to a public house where he fainted several times; his chariot was fetched, and the gentleman accompanied him home. By yesterday, he had recovered sufficiently to go abroad and plans to attend the House committee on Thursday to support distressed merchants.
