THE MILK ORDINANCE:
Enforce the Law.

Whose duty is it to enforce the milk ordinance, or, in other words, to see that all dealers take out a license to sell milk? City Clerk Sandland says that Milk and Food Inspector Keeley is supposed to do the work while the latter, at the meeting of the board of health last evening, stated it was not in his line. Keeley stated that last year the city clerk did the work and that he should do it this year. Consequently the board voted to notify City Clerk Sandland that he look after the milk licenses. When the manager of the City Official baseball team was told to-day that it was up to him to see that the milk ordinance was enforced his wrath knew no bounds, and if Dr. Keeley came in sight there would have been things doing. The city clerk says that it is not in his line to see that dealers take out milk licenses and asserts that he has no intention of carrying out the instructions of the board of health. Last year 309 dealers took out licenses to sell milk. Only 269 have taken out the licenses this year and it is up to some one to make the tardy ones settle.
