Three Ypsilantians were among the hundred donors who gave blood at the Red Cross donors' station in Detroit Monday. They were Mrs. Judson King and Mrs. Jay Cazier, of the Washtenaw Rebekah Lodge, and Royce Smith, noble grand of the local Odd Fellow Lodge.
The Odd Fellow lodges of the state are sponsoring a mobile unit which will travel throughout the state, receiving blood from donors. Plans are now being made to have the unit here the latter part of the year or the first of next.
Each donor gives a pint of blood and it is stored for future use by the Army and Navy. The blood is placed in a refrigerator and at the close of the day is shipped in special refrigerated crates to Indianapolis.
