Wild Rush of Homesteaders.

MARQUETTE, Mich., March 7.—The news that President Cleveland signed the Marquette, Houghton and Ontonagon land grant forfeiture bill ten minutes before going out of office caused the wildest rush among homesteaders. First settlers and other contestants have been congregating here for two months, fighting in the courts and otherwise for their claims. Now they are falling over each other to get on to the lands first. No end of trouble is liable to follow. The bill gives the lands to first settlers, but to prove priority of claim is the trouble.
