Bishop Gets Two Years On County Roads

Robert L. Bishop, 50-year old white man, and his son Kelly Bishop, were found guilty in Halifax County Superior Court this week on charges of assault with intent to kill and the elder Bishop was sentenced by Judge John J. Burney to serve two years on the roads. Kelly was given a five-year probation sentence.

The two men were brought into court as an aftermath of a shooting affair at the home of the Bishops last Christmas eve when "Bill" Ray, another man, was shot by a revolver at that time. Kelly Bishop admitted the shooting.
