NEW PROVIDENCE PIRATES.—Capt. Miller, of the Brig Fanny and Jane, arrived at New-York from New-Orleans. Off the Bahama, July 1, was boarded by a New Providence privateer, who ordered the master and papers on board the brig. In the Captain's absence, John Patrick Fisher, 1st Lieut. of the privateer, insisted on seeing the people's protections, and after examining some of them they desired him to return them—“Stop damn you, it's not the first time that I have tricked some of you dam'd Yankee rascals!” When the Captain came on board, Fisher insisted on his flogging the 2d Mate for insulting him; the Master refusing, he ordered a negro to do it—the Captain interfered. Fisher then went on board the privateer, and returned with 14 or 15 men armed, whom he ordered to lay hold of the damned rascal, and flog, and let me see, said he, the man that dares take his part—After beating him unmercifully, abusing the Capt. damning him for a Yankee Rascal, &c. he ordered his men into the boat, saying, if they wanted any satisfaction, his name was John Patrick Fisher, of the Brig Two Brothers of New-Providence.
