Full Text

Parties had gone into the woods with the evident intention of catching fish in waters protected by fish boards. Some of the boys who had been hauled up for fishing on spawning beds, and who are gruffy because they cannot spend their Sundays on the fish ponds, proceeded to the woods, caught the poor sinners in the act of catching a few small trout, with a sprinkling of shiners, and then left the woods swearing and threatening vengeance. They proceeded to the Village and entered a complaint against the parties. Unfortunately for us, we are guilty, and though a part owner of more land, near, adjoining and surrounding the prohibited waters in that vicinity, than all the fishermen in the valley, are still amenable to the law, and ask no quarter. We cheerfully surrender and bear the disgrace that should fall upon us. "Let no guilty man escape."
