Buried Treasure From Viking Era Found In Sweden

STOCKHOLM

A buried treasure from the closing phase of the Viking era, consisting of 1,250 whole, halved or cut up silver coins from about 100 different mints in England, Holland, Denmark, Germany, etc., was turned up by a farmer on the historic Gotland isle in Baltic while plowing an old patch.

....Aethelred, Hardicanute, Danish King Even Estridsson appear in likenesses.

Well preserved specimens carry the inscription "Andreas Rex Pannoniae" (King Andreas I of Hungary A. D. 1046-61).
