BOSTON, May 20.

We recollect the time, when it was said, that "the British Treaty contained more evil than ever issued from the box of Pandora; that it prostrated the Liberties of America at the feet of Great Britain: and that it reduced us again to the slavish condition of Colonies, to that proud and haughty nation." We have also seen the man who negotiated this treaty shamefully burnt in effigy, the Government under whose authority he acted, the fruitful theme of abuse for more than six years: and an opposition to it the surest guide to popularity. All these things have we seen; now mark the change!

Invested with power, one of the first acts of the present administration has been to carry this Treaty into full and complete effect, not by a mere modification of the words, but by something more substantial, an appropriation of two millions six hundred and sixty four thousand dollars. If these honorable men were sincere in their former opposition to the British Treaty, what has become of their patriotism and consistency?
