ATTEMPT TO ROB THE BANK. An attempt was made on Monday night last to break open the Farmer's Bank at this place. The panel of the door was cut or forced in, and the implements by which it was effected were found in the room. The Cashier and his family were roused by the noise which the cutting occasioned, and thus the Marauders were frustrated in their attempt to obtain the Discount they were in pursuit of. They fled as soon as they discovered that they were heard. The tools belonged to a blacksmith shop and were borrowed by a certain individual the evening before to do a job of work.—This circumstance directed suspicion towards that individual, and he was arrested on Tuesday morning and committed for examination.—Virg.
