RETURNED FROM VACATION

Last Wednesday evening, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Pihl, their daughter, Mrs. Everett Congdon, and her three children, Ardsley, LeAnna and Gary, returned from a winter vacation in Florida. They made their headquarters at Fort Lauderdale.

One of their many side trips was to Key West, over the new highway and bridges completed during the last war. They also went deep sea fishing and while trolling, all were thrilled, especially the children, when a sail fish was hooked on each of the four lines. All fish were brought in after the lines had been untwisted and it developed that Ardsley's sail fish measured 46 inches. So Grandpa Pihl agreed to have it mounted as a trophy for his grandson. Many other varieties of fish were caught and then fillet of fish was ready for the deep freeze.

Everette delighted his wife and children when he flew down on Thursday and stayed until Sunday forenoon. He brought some of the fillet of fish back with him on the plane, and the balance was shipped home.

On the drive down and back, Mr. Pihl entertained his passengers immensely by stopping at many of the show places. They were fortunate to be at Lake Wales, Florida, on a Sunday and heard the carillon chimes of the Bock Tower.

As per the usual enjoyment for the Zion folks in Fort Lauderdale, Miami, and surrounding territory, two pot-lucks were held at the beach at Fort Lauderdale which were attended by most of the Zion folk in the southern part of Florida.

Ralph reports his kodachrome slides came back in wonderful color. His many movie exposures have not come back yet. They report a remarkable vacation favored with excellent weather.
