New York. June 19—The choirs of three Texas members of the United Negro College Fund will be featured on the American Broadcasting Company's weekly radio series during the month of July.
These "Negro College Choir" network radio programs originate in New York City on Sundays. They are broadcast by ABC affiliates throughout the country on varying days and at different hours. Local newspaper listings of radio programs may be checked for broadcast time in specific areas.
The choral group of Texas College, Tyler, will be heard during the week of July 5, under the direction of Gwendolyn Wright Jones.
The choir of Bishop College, Marshall, directed by J. Harrison Wilson, will broadcast during the week of July 12.
The concert choir of Wiley College, also in Marshall, will present its program during the week of July 19. Gilbert Allen directs this program.
To round out the month's broadcasts, the choir of Lane College, Jackson, Tenn., will be heard the week of July 26, under the direction of Robert G. Owens.
The air-time for "Negro College Choirs" over New York City's WABC is Sunday, 11:05-11:30 p.m.
