Full Text

The Richmond Enquirer says—"The public are not yet aware of the indignant feelings which Mr. Stevenson's rejection produced at Washington." Well—we imagine they are not—nor indeed do we think they ever will be. The Kitchen "Unit" undoubtedly were very indignant at this unceremonious treatment of one of their most intimate friends—and the Old Hero went through the six divisions with his hickory, because the Senate rejected his nomination—but here we think all the indignation stops. At least, we hear of no one else getting indignant at it.
