FOR THE GAZETTE.

To the Federalists of the County of York.

YOU are soon to choose a member of Congress for two years to commence next March. I know you honor and esteem the present one, and are disposed that he should be elected—But, "if ye know these things, happy are you if ye do them."

My design in this little address, is to inform you that Mr. Fairfield, the late minister of Pepperrellborough, is to be chosen in the room of Mr. THATCHER, if possible. His friends are busy as bees, and flying in as many directions to gain votes for him. Let me caution you therefore against sleeping upon your arms—assemble as many as possible, and not suffer the Jacobins to carry any more points. It is time for them to be completely quelled—Shall it be said that at the very time your liberties were most in danger, that you met and chose a Jacobin to guard them? The idea is as wicked as it is absurd. Besides, if one of that creed must be chosen, take one that is not between sixty and seventy years old. In a word, my friends, look out—you know whom to trust—let him be chosen

"Nor lose the blessing by delay."
