SPIRIT OF APPROACH
WHAT I AM CONCERNED ABOUT IN THE FAST MOVING WORLD IN THE TIME OF THE CRISES, BOTH IN FOREIGN AND DOMESTIC AFFAIRS, IS NOT SO MUCH A PROGRAM AS A SPIRIT OF APPROACH, NOT SO MUCH A MIND AS A HEART. A PROGRAM LIVES TODAY AND DIES TOMORROW. A MIND IF IT BE OPEN, MAY CHANGE EACH DAY BUT THE SPIRIT AND THE HEART ARE AS UNCHANGING AS THE TIDES.
BY OWEN D. YOUNG
Again we find where some one has told us, that the happiest land and the highest civilization is that in which every Capitalist is an unhampered laborer, and every laborer a potential capitalist we can only approach that land of our dreams--Utopia, where one system of laws and all institutions are perfect, by degrees not decrees. There never can be an Utopia for us if we are weak or prey upon the weakness of others.
Every man a king is a darn good card to have up your sleeves if you ever get the chance to play it and to the with the rest of the world. But it won't work--Utopia can only come to us through well defined plan, that permits us to get out and fight for our rights while we respect the rights of others. It is far better to inculcate in mankind the inspiration to be capable of filling the proper niche in life and leave the rest of the world to men to play their part.
The spirit and the heart, can carry us on. Misdirected minds and improper programs bring us only to the dump-yard of futile effort.
Lets be sure that our approach, like poverty and riches is of the spirit: Whatever tasks we essay, lets put our heart in it.
