SENTENCE SERMONS
By REV. FRANK CLARENCE LOWRY For Associated Negro Press
"I Will Not Be Afraid"
When one does not depend on human aid, he then need never be afraid . . . for he knows if God is his sword and shield, in no conquest will he have to yield.
And with fortitude and Grace he can meet every frown on Satan's face, and dissipate every appearance of gloom, for he knows full well, 'light and joy will come soon.'
The author of these words, "I Will Not Be Afraid" certainly proved that he was most valiant and brave: but not until he came to know, the one true God, and let Satan go.
Individually we must crave something more than earthly achievements to explore, and look all men square in the face and of prejudice and hate there must be no trace.
Or else right now we can read our doom by the hand-writing on the wall, and not on the moon for the time is short, and it is your job and mine, to be patient and loving toward all mankind.
Thanks to the writer of Ps. 56:11. "In God have I put my trust: I will not be afraid what man can do unto me;" if this is the power with which the Psalmist spoke Generations before Christ's ignominious death to set man free, then how much greater should be the bravery, loyalty and devotion, forthcoming from you and me.
