On Sunday morning our pastor, Rev. L. C. Harris, delivered a very interesting and inspirational message, taken from the 15th Chapter of St. John, 15th verse. Theme, "My Friends." "Who and what is the definition of a friend? A friend is one who will share your sorrows with you, as well as sharing your joys. One who sticketh closer than a brother." said Rev. Harris.
Senior Gospel choir and Musicians furnished the music.
Preaching at the 4 p. m. services, for our pastor's second anniversary, was Rev. Floyd Massey Jr., pastor of the Pilgrim Baptist church in St. Paul. His theme was "There's Greatness In Little Hills" taken from the 65th Psalms, 12th verse. We enjoyed this message very much.
Beautiful solos were rendered by Mrs. Violettia Walker, Mrs. Anna Moody, and Mrs. Judson Phillips. Pianist accompanists were Mrs. Clara Smith and Mrs. L. C. Harris. A whistling number was given by Mrs. Leola Young.
Words of encouragement were extended by the various officers, members and friends.
Next Sunday, October 5th at the 11 a. m. services, Rev. E. A. Gaiters, representative of the Theological Seminary, Inc., from Des Moines, Iowa. will be the guest speaker. A cordial invitation is extended to all.
Bethesda will observe Men's Day Sunday, October 12. Keep this date in mind.
