PROTECTION TO AMERICAN INDUSTRY.

We copy the following article from the Madisonian, a paper published at Washington, and supposed to be, more than any other journal in the confidence of the Executive. We rejoice to perceive, from that quarter, a decided inclination to foster the domestic products and the industry of the country--& a disposition towards that course of policy, without the pursuit of which this country can never regain its position of prosperity. It is not possible that the President of the U. States can do his country a greater service, in the present state of her affairs, than to give his sanction and influence to measures of a decided character, for the encouragement of her manufactures, and the protection of domestic labor.
