As the Local 12 Softball League went into the second week of play the 20 teams entered in the three Divisions displayed a smoother brand of softball for the large number of spectators who attended the games at the C.Y.O. field on Tuesday and Thursday nights.

In the American Division, the Lakeside Biscuits turned on the heat as they trounced the fast moving Tillotson team, to the tune of 26 to 4. The large score was a big upset as the two teams were thought to be on a par.

The shining light of this game was Ziggy Knakiewicz, Lakeside shortstop, who got four safe bingles in four trips to the plate. Ziggy brought in a total of twelve runs on a home run, a triple and two singles.

Mather Springs outhit Industrial Heat Treat to win, 18 to 9.

DeVilbiss continued in the win column as they defeated the Acklin Stampers, 12 to 4.

The National Division saw the Toledo Scales take a hard fought game from the American Floor Surfacers, 7 to 1, while the Willys-Overland Unit turned on the heat to take a contest from Airway Electric, 12 to 2. The Burke For Congress outfit, under the management of Bing Crosby showed that they must be reckoned with as they defeated a good Auto-Lite team, 12 to 0.

The Schultz Die Casters won from the Martin-Parry Unit, 15 to 4, and the Toledo Joint Council nine kept a clean slate by beating the Toledo Pipe Threaders in a forfeit game. National Supply looked very good as they took a game from a stubborn P.A.C. team by the score of 14 to 1.
